Bob and Rhonda

We are proud Air Force veterans with an undeniable passion for family, outdoor adventure, and wine. Our experiences serving our country have fostered a strong bond and shared love for exploration and new beginnings. With a thirst for knowledge and a deep appreciation for nature's beauty, we embarked on a new journey as wine enthusiasts and eventually created Rock Roadhouse Winery. We pour our heart and soul into every bottle and are immensely proud of the delicious wines we create, each one a testament to our unwavering determination and commitment to excellence. Our shared values of family, adventure, and the appreciation of life's finer pleasures are evident in every sip, as our wines invite you to embrace the joy of the outdoors and savor the richness of the moment.

Wine Philosophy

Our wines are a combination of organic farming and conventional winemaking practices. We do not alter what the soil has made. Our focus is on the vineyard and minimum manipulation of the grapes in our winemaking. The wine will whisper in the perfect language and structure of nature when wine is alive and free from over-reaching human influence.

The Vineyard Location

Located in the heart of the Allegheny Mountains, our 10 acres of vines grow on a steep 15-degree southern slope and an eastern tilt. We grow French-American vines adapted to fit the mid-Atlantic climate -- fertile soil, steady winds driven by convection heating and cooling, adequate rain, and steady day to night temperature swings all contribute to the growth of our grapes. The high elevation of the mountains are ideal for a number of reasons: not only is there more than a one-thousand foot drop for cold air to settle into the valleys below, but the mountain rocks heat up during the day and hold that surface heat through the night substantially mitigating the risk of a late season freeze. This combination of the cool mountain micro-climate and topography are perfect for wine.
